Hello, my name is Jake Jackson and I am a gear head and automotive/motorcycle enthusiast.  I’ve owned cars, trucks, and motorcycles and I’ve had a fair share of problems with the vehicles I’ve owned over the years.

Growing up I enjoyed taking things apart to learn how the inner pieces worked so that I could better understand them. I like to continuously learn new things and increase my knowledge about things in the automotive and tech world.

I completed my bachelors in IT in 2011 and completed an MBA in IT project management in 2018. While my work background does not involve cars, I’ve been obsessed with cars and how they work since I was about 15 years old.

At that time I started heavily researching what cars I’d like to buy as I was about to be old enough to drive. Since then I’ve owned six vehicles and two motorcycles all which have needed some work done on them in some fashion.

Most of the vehicles I’ve bought have been on the higher mileage side and I’ve had my fair share of issues pop up that I’ve needed to fix. I’ve replaced brake rotors and pads, shocks and struts, spark plugs, oil and transmission fluids, an alternator, cold air intake, headlights, etc.

I’ve also done a decent amount of work to enhance my vehicles over the years things like upgrade stock bulbs to LED bulbs, replace headlights, repaint faded parts, install a body kit, etc. Over the years I’ve attended plenty of car shows, car meets, cars and coffees, and even autocross events.

In 2018 I started Drive Cave as a way to get the knowledge I have about cars and motorcycles out to the world. I figured if I am learning about cars and motorcycles that I might as well share that information with others.

The purpose of this site is to help out fellow car enthusiasts with common car issues and to provide recommendations for car products for your vehicle.
